Your day begins by taking a scenic eight-mile drive through the cactus forest at Rincon Mountain District. This section of Saguaro National Park is known for its relatively low concentration of cacti, making it perfect for backpacking trips compared to more dense areas in other sections. A massive mountain area provides a nice backdrop for photography and has numerous hiking trails. This place is more green with multiple valleys.

With views of the dramatic sunsets, Tucson Mountain District is great for desert-lovers. You'll find denser cactus concentration here than in its eastern counterpart and it's also more dusty and hilly so be prepared! Why not take a drive at the famous Bajada Loop Drive and witness the beauty of the Sonoran Desert with your tour?

The city of Tucson separates the sections of Saguaro National Park, but both offer unique experiences to visitors. On the greener east side, you can enjoy more hiking trails and views while camping at night. The west section provides desert scenery with orange rocks in view all year long.

The desert of southeast Arizona is home to the only Saguaro cactus in America. This massive plant starts life as a seed, which can be smaller than your fingernail; it grows up to 70 feet tall and 3-5 inches per year.

The mammals that can be found in Saguaro National Park include mountain lions, black bears, badgers, bobcats, and coyotes. Foxes and raccoons are also present as well as bats and chipmunks and squirrels.

One solitary saguaro can stand up to 50 feet tall and live 200 years or more!
