Santa Monica is a vibrant urban beach city west of Los Angeles which was at one point in its history the “end of the trail” of Route 66. It has nearly four miles of coastline and is home to world-renowned restaurants owned by some of the most famous chefs in the world. Santa Monica is also known for the 3rd Street Promenade, which is an open-air marketplace where major brands have boutique stores. It is also home to the Santa Monica Pier which is filled with old school arcades and the famous Ferris wheel which is iconic to LA at Pacific Park amusement park.
Dockweiler State Beach is a popular sandy beach a short drive from Santa Monica and is dedicated to RV campers. It's a perfect spot to take a camper van rental, and the campground has a nice beach and paved path for walking and biking. The Marvin Braude Bike Trail is 22 miles long and spans from Torrance to Pacific Palisades. There are also fire pits throughout the beach for those nice, warm evenings with friends and family, with lifeguards on duty for some water fun like boogie boarding and surfing,
