The beautifully scenic view of the lake and mountains will make your trip worthwhile. Donner Pass Road winds its way past lakeside houses, up to a mountain top overlook where you’ll find an old wooden structure that used to be a water tower from decades ago. Just before reaching this point, there is also another parking area with views in all directions - don't forget your camera!
