Yosemite National Park
Dates
Yosemite National Park, where you can witness the towering heights of granite formations and drive through the Wawona Tunnel. This is an ideal place to take your camper van rental.
Yosemite is one of California’s famed National Parks located in central California and part of the Sierra Nevada mountains. We recommend renting a campervan to experience the Tunnel View as you enter the park, the ancient and giant Sequoia trees, El Capitan and Half Dome. There are many campsites located throughout the park as well as rivers for water activities. On the eastern side of Yosemite is Mammoth Lake, another outdoor adventure playground. We suggest hiking to Upper Yosemite Falls, a 7-mile trail with spectacular views of the park. From the village, there is a short trail to Ahwahnee Meadow, which is the best location for a view of the entire valley, including Half Dome which stands over 4,700 feet tall and is a granite mountain that has literally been cut in half by the elements and erosion. Another recommendation is John Muir Trail that leads to Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls which are both nice day hikes. A perfect camper van rental trip is a drive on Tioga Road which splits the park in half and is one of America’s most scenic highways. It opens up the high country and lush meadows for everyone to see and take in. Tioga Road takes you to Tuolumne Grove and the Merced Grove of giant sequoias. There is also Mariposa Grove, which is home to the park’s largest Sequoia grove and the famous Grizzly Giant. The tree is over 200 feet tall and almost 2,000 years old. These trees are thousands of years old and will leave you awestruck. From Tioga Road, you can also access some of the hiking trails in the North Valley such as North Dome, Eagle Trail, and El Capitan, which is the famous granite formation that rises 4,000 feet above the valley floor. There are countless other activities throughout the park and the best way to get around is in a camper van rental.
