Take a drive down Kalanianaole Highway in a campervan rental and explore the beautiful small community of Waimanalo. Waimanalo is made up of the community of Waimanalo and Waimanalo Beach and extends from the Koolau mountain range to Waimanalo Bay on the eastern side of Oahu.

Waimanalo is a short drive southeast of Oahu along the Kalanianaole Highway. As you cruise down the highway in your campervan rental, your first stop will be some of the many local, feel-good restaurants in Waimanalo. The first of which is Keneke’s, which is a must-see, must-try local Hawaiian restaurant. Another local favorite is the Ono Steaks and Shrimp Shack. This is another local Hawaiian feel-good restaurant where you can enjoy fresh-caught seafood dishes.

Waimanalo Beach Park is a local favorite for its white sand and quiet nature. It is known among the locals for its gentle surf and is one of Oahu’s longest stretches of beach. You can go snorkeling, go for a nice swim or just catch some sun and relax. Kaiona Beach Park is the other beach located within Waimanalo and is also a very nice and calm beach known for snorkeling and spotting green sea turtles. There are many reefs not far from shore abundant with life and excellent for seeing the vibrant sea life found in this sleepy area.
