Choosing your own adventure with a campervan in Lake Tahoe is so easy. The Tahoe Rim Trail and Flume Trail, both world-class Lake Tahoe mountain biking trails, have everything from epic views on a mellow single-track to crazy climbs and heart-pounding descents that will help you experience the Sierra Nevada in a way you never thought possible. Be sure to get out on lake, we love launching kayaks & SUPs from Sand Harbor near Incline Village.
For something more unique try The Treetop Adventure Parks, with four different courses at varying levels as well as water features. You can also try your hand at a white-water rafting tour, fly fishing near Markleeville or take an aerial tour in a hot air balloon!
After the daytime adventures are over you'll find Lake Tahoe is a great place to go for relaxation and restoration. Set-up camp at Fallen Leaf Lake, Lake Forest campground or boondock in the Hope Valley area near South Lake Tahoe.

The word ‘Tahoe’ is the result of a mispronunciation of the first two syllables of the Washoe’s word – Da ow a ga – which translates to “edge of the lake.” You can consider them the original Tahoe locals, and like us, they enjoyed the lake and its surrounding land for all it had to offer.

Lake Tahoe is in two places at once. That sounds impossible, right? Nope! Approximately 2/3 of the lake is in California and 1/3 is in Nevada.

There are approximately 36.15 cubic miles of water in Lake Tahoe or approximately 39 trillion gallons. According to Keep Tahoe Blue, that’s enough water to cover a flat area the size of California with 14 inches of water. It’s also enough to supply everyone in the United States with 50 gallons of water per day for five years.
