With 90 acres of a public park, Bush's Pasture Park is the perfect place to enjoy Salem. From open spaces and gardens to sports activities and historical buildings, you can spend your day here enjoying a mix of it all! To relax, there are multiple trails to choose from for walking, jogging, and biking. The garden has over 2,000 roses while the orchards include cherry and apple trees. One can have fun at several playgrounds with kids in tow too!

The Willamette River flows through Salem and provides many opportunities for water sports such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing, etc. There are also several other rivers near the city where you can fish or engage in other outdoor activities like rafting and hiking to name a few.
Salem is a bike-friendly city with many bike races throughout the year and an easy, scenic commute via the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway.
Salem is the "Tree City U.S.A." for 30 years in a row thanks to its dedication and management of forestry, plus cherry trees everywhere!
Silver Falls State Park is only 25 miles away from Salem and contains 9,000 acres of forest filled with walking paths (which give you the opportunity to spot wildlife like bears or coyotes) in addition to its world-class waterfalls.
