A day at the Newberry National Volcanic Monument is not complete without climbing on top of a sheer volcanic cliff. Visitors can explore ancient lava flows and vibrant colors that are unique to Oregon, thanks in part due to their proximity with Mt Hood as well other nearby spots like Smith Rock State Park where climbers often flock from all over.
Sisters Country is a land of many trails, and every hiker or biker can find their perfect adventure. Hike through the forest on an old logging road where you'll get lost but never fear because aerial cables will save your day! Or pedal along with one of their paved bike paths for leisurely afternoon rides that go by way too fast when it's warm outside.
Sisters is a 'burden haven' with its Western-themed downtown district. This area lining Cascade Avenue at the center of town has merchants who line their stores from one corner to another, providing visitors plenty of opportunities for browsing and shopping!
The Three Sisters are a trio of snow-capped mountains in the Cascade Mountains that gave their name to this majestic valley.
Another city near Sisters was named as a counterpart to the town called Brothers.
The town of Sisters, Oregon was primarily known for its lumber-producing industry and it even had a brief stint as an incorporated city between World War II through the early 1950s.
